About Crete Tango Holiday (Autumn)
Crete Tango Holiday Autumn Edition is organised by Tango SUR (Susanne Muhlhaus) and unfolds over two consecutive weeks on the southern and western coasts of Crete, in Plakias and Souda Bay. It blends genuine holiday relaxation with serious tango work, set against a backdrop of sea views, sunsets and the warm light of the Greek island in late autumn.
The autumn 2026 weeks run 24-31 October and 31 October to 7 November, taught by Susanne Muhlhaus together with Berlin-based maestro Michael Sacher. Days mix workshops focused on musicality, technique, movement and improvisation with practicas and evening milongas, so dancers can learn something new and immediately apply it on the floor.
The programme is designed for dancers from intermediate level upwards, and ambitious beginners with prior experience may join after consultation. Participants can book a single week or stay for both weeks at a discounted price, combining tango with rest, nature and the relaxed rhythm of island life.
Tango SUR has a long tradition of inviting renowned guest maestros to its Crete weeks, having worked in the past with figures such as Pablo Veron and Metin Yazir. The emphasis throughout is on harmonious, musical social dancing and on connection, in a friendly, low-pressure environment by the sea.
