La Ronda de los Abrazos is a warm, community-driven tango marathon that gathers milongueros from around the world on the island of Gran Canaria from 12–15 November 2026. With over 40 hours of dancing spread across 8 milongas, this four-day event is a celebration of connection, tradition, and the ocean breeze.
The venue, Hotel Cristina by Tigotan, sits on the front line of the legendary Playa de Las Canteras — a 4 km urban beach at the heart of Las Palmas. The dance floor features a wooden parquet floor, comfortable lighting, air conditioning, and quality sound equipment. Organisers are committed to 100% role balance, free seating, mirada and cabeceo etiquette, and a flowing, respectful ronda.
Internationally acclaimed maestros Lorena Tarantino and Giampiero Galdi return in 2026 to lead an intensive three-session workshop series covering musicality, movement dynamics, and the rhythmic worlds of milonga and vals. Each 3-hour seminar runs on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoon before the evening milongas begin.
A rotating cast of four international DJs — Francesco Cieschi, Sonja Zivanovic, Adriana Herrera, Damián Desmarás, and Manuel Rosales — keeps the music rich and traditional throughout the weekend. Whether you come for the tango, the Atlantic sunshine, or simply the embrace of old friends, La Ronda de los Abrazos promises an unforgettable island experience.
