About Roma Tango Marathon Caput Mundi
The Roma Tango Marathon Caput Mundi brings together tango enthusiasts from across the globe for a long weekend of continuous dancing in one of the world's most iconic cities. Now in its 4th edition, the marathon runs from Friday 18 to Sunday 20 September 2026, with an optional warm-up milonga on Thursday 17 September — giving dancers up to four nights of music and embrace.
The event is hosted entirely at Hotel Villa Maria Regina, set in one of Rome's most elegant residential neighbourhoods near Ponte Milvio and the Foro Italico. Dancers sleep, dine, and dance under the same roof in the magnificent 320 m² Sala Biblioteca, a high-ceilinged room with quality parquet flooring, large windows flooding it with afternoon light, and atmospheric soft lighting after dark — all backed by high-fidelity Pucci Sound Service audio.
Six internationally acclaimed TJs have been assembled to carry the dance floor through 36 hours of music: Asya Moiseeva (Paris), Diego Doigneau (Buenos Aires/London), Francesco Cieschi (Berlin), Gabriele Sabato (Berlin), Angelo Mercurio (Milan), and Rome's own Lavinia Livi. A special guest tango workshop with Natalia Ochoa rounds out the programme for those who want to grow on and off the floor.
Beyond the dancing, attendees enjoy a rich buffet throughout the event, pit-stop massages, tango clothing and shoe exhibitions, two official photographers, and a Saturday Gala Night with dress code. Early-bird passes are available from March 2026, with hotel rooms bookable directly under the TANGO 2026 agreement.
