About TangoLand Fest
TangoLand Fest returns to Catania, Sicily, for five days of Argentine tango set against the city's stunning Baroque architecture. The main venue is Land (Vecchia Dogana), a beautifully converted 19th-century customs house with a wooden dance floor, located right at the port in the historic centre, easy to reach on foot from anywhere in the city.
The festival brings together a stellar international cast of maestros from Argentina, Italy, Georgia, France, Turkey, and beyond, offering workshops across Friday, Saturday, and Sunday alongside daily and nightly milongas with top DJs. Highlights include a seminar on the card game for tango dancers, a Welcome & Dinner with live Rebetiko music from an Athenian trio, and the unmissable Una Tanda dal Principe, one live tanda danced inside the grand ballroom of the 18th-century Palazzo Biscari, preceded by a soprano performing Vincenzo Bellini's aria.
Evening milongas run until 4 or 5 a.m., each anchored by a performance from resident couples. The week opens with a Pre-Party rooftop milonga and closes with a Turkish-themed After Party. Outside the dance floor, optional extras include an Etna wine-tasting tour and daily sailboat rides along Catania's gulf.
With around 300 participants, a warm community atmosphere, and an itinerary that blends world-class tango with Sicilian culture, TangoLand Fest is a truly memorable destination festival.
