New Year's Eve marathon
Tangonautica is a New Year's Eve tango marathon in Basel, run by Gregor Tangonaut and the Verein Tango Live. It opens on 31 December with a Swiss cheese raclette and a party milonga into the new year, then dances on through 3 January with seven international DJs.

The 2026–2027 edition starts with raclette at 19:30 on 31 December, a get-together at 22:00 and a party milonga from about 23:00. Afternoon and night milongas follow on 1, 2 and 3 January.
DJs are Gregor Tangonaut, Kostas Poulos (Frankfurt), Irma Gross (Basel), Christian Oberndorfer (Vienna), Laura Romero (Fribourg), Ana Temblador (Brussels) and Thea Rørvik (Oslo). The venue, Don Bosco Basel, has a wooden floor, a full sound system and seating arranged around the floor for mirada and cabeceo.
This year uses an open format: full event passes, day passes or single milongas. Registration is required for all of them.
