About Totally in Tango Cadiz
Totally in Tango Cadiz is a six-day tango immersion set on Spain's sun-soaked Costa de la Luz, held at the beachside Hotel Puerto Bahia in El Puerto de Santa Maria from 6 to 12 October 2026. The event warmly welcomes dancers who love exploring both leader and follower roles, and no partner registration is required, everyone dances with everyone.
The first half of the week (Tuesday to Friday) is dedicated to intensive learning guided by Celine and Alexis, highly regarded social tango teachers based in Barcelona. Celine is from France and Alexis originally from Chile; together they bring over a decade of collaboration, teaching a style they describe as subtle, comfortable, rich in sensations, and deeply musical. Classes are held in both Spanish and English. From Friday afternoon onward, the pace softens into a more relaxed format of milongas, connection, and soaking up the late summer warmth.
The event is co-organised with Ana and Alain, who first met at this very hotel a decade ago and have been running tango weeks here ever since. Ana joins as part of the DJ team, and together they curate an immersive cultural programme including a ferry trip to Cadiz's ancient old town, a visit to flamenco-heartland Jerez de la Frontera with a live flamenco show, and a walk through the stunning white village of Vejer de la Frontera.
Participant numbers are capped at 50 for the intensive period and 80 for the relaxed days, ensuring a genuinely intimate atmosphere. The hotel sits directly beside the beach, with a swimming pool and spa on-site, and offers group rates on single and twin rooms with half board included.
