About Milonguero Milonguero
Milonguero Milonguero is the 13th International Milongueros' Meeting, held over four days in Calpe (Calp) on Spain's Costa Blanca. The encuentro celebrates thirteen years of tango milonguero, bringing together dancers from around the world to dance to the best traditional music, with invitations made through the mirada and cabeceo and dancing in close embrace.
This is an encuentro where experience is required. Beyond inviting with the look and the nod and dancing in a close abrazo, participants are expected to respect access to the floor, keep good circulation in their lane, respect the couple ahead, dance with musicality, change partners between tandas, and above all enjoy themselves while respecting everyone around them.
Everything takes place under one roof at the Hotel AR Diamante Beach, twice awarded Best Holiday Hotel in Spain. Its spectacular ballroom has a parquet floor with no columns, controlled lighting during the tandas, and an excellent surround-sound audio system. Special accommodation packages at the hotel are made available to participants.
Calpe is a small coastal town in the province of Alicante, framed by the majestic Penon de Ifach rising from the sea. With beautiful beaches, natural parks, and exquisite cuisine, it sits just 63 km from Alicante, with a regular door-to-door shuttle service connecting the airport directly to the event hotel.
